WHAT IS A RITE OF PASSAGE
A rite of passage is a way of marking and celebrating a moment in time based around the transition from one stage of life into another.
All ancient cultures around the world had a rite of passage as part of their lifeway and understood that without them the young would often wreak havoc on the community.
In modern society rite of passage has largely fallen away and teenagers are left to find their own ways to challenge and test themselves often in dangerous and unhealthy ways.
Taking your child through a rite of passage will help them to grow and feel confident and connected to themselves and the community.
All rites of passage have 3 things in common.
Separation - leaving behind the known / former life
Transition - preparation, training and a challenge
Integration - the returning to ones life having been forever changed and held in a new light by friends and family members.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Steve Aldridge is the founder of Wild Movement Perth.
For ten years he worked in the health and wellness industry learning all the reasons how and why our modern lifestyle does not naturally result in healthy humans.
This left him with one burning question. What makes a healthy human?
What started as a quest to learn about human health quickly led to the understanding that humans are dependent on and part of ecology and that all organisms are best off when fulfilling their role within the ecosystem.
In 2016 Steve created Wild Movement Perth and has since been reconnecting people with nature through teaching earth based / survival skills, foraging, natural movement, camps and rite of passage to kids and adults all around Perth.
